Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-18
This Privacy Policy describes how Eleicao ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the Eleicao app ("we", "us", or the "App") collects, uses, and protects your information. The App provides Brazilian election information, results, candidate data, and related content.
Last updated: 2026-08-18.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, address, or documents. The App collects the following:
- Device and technical data: device model, operating system version, language, region, app version, unique device or installation identifiers, and network connection type (collected via Expo, Firebase, and Microsoft Clarity).
- Usage and interaction data: screens viewed, taps, scrolls, session duration, and in-app events, including anonymized session replays and heatmaps through Microsoft Clarity.
- Crash and diagnostic data: crash logs, stack traces, and performance information through Firebase Crashlytics.
- Approximate location (optional): if you grant permission, we use your coarse or precise location only to pre-select your state and municipality so we can show local election results. Location is processed on the device for this purpose and is not sold or used to build advertising profiles by us.
- Advertising identifiers: the Advertising ID (Android) or IDFA (iOS) may be used by Google AdMob and TikTok Ads measurement, subject to your consent.
- Purchase data: anonymous purchase and subscription status, transaction identifiers, and receipt validation data processed by RevenueCat and the App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your credit card or payment details.
- Push notification token: a device token from Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send election alerts and result updates.
- Local preferences: favorites, selected state or municipality, and app settings stored on your device and, when applicable, in Firebase Firestore under an anonymous identifier.
We do not collect information from your camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, or health data.
Device Permissions
The App only asks for permissions it actually needs. You can grant or deny each one, and change your choice at any time in your device settings.
- Location (optional): used to detect your state and municipality so results and local candidates load automatically. Denying it simply means you select your location manually.
- Notifications (optional): used to send election alerts, result updates, and app news. Denying it does not limit any other feature.
- Photo library / file storage (optional): used only when you choose to save or share a generated image, report, or PDF from the App. We do not browse, read, or upload your existing photos.
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS): before any cross-app tracking for advertising, iOS will ask for your permission. If you decline, advertising will be non-personalized.
- Internet and network access: required to load election data, content updates, and ads.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Display election results, candidate information, and historical data relevant to your region;
- Operate, maintain, and improve app features and performance;
- Diagnose crashes, bugs, and technical problems;
- Understand how features are used so we can improve the experience;
- Deliver and measure advertising that keeps the App free;
- Process and restore purchases and subscriptions;
- Send push notifications you have opted into;
- Deliver over-the-air app updates and remotely configure features;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
Legal Basis for Processing
Where required by law (including Brazil's LGPD and the GDPR), we process data on the following bases:
- Consent: location, push notifications, personalized advertising, and tracking identifiers;
- Contract performance: providing app functionality and processing purchases;
- Legitimate interest: security, fraud prevention, crash diagnostics, and product improvement;
- Legal obligation: where retention or disclosure is required by law.
Advertising
The free version of the App displays advertising through Google AdMob, which may include banner, interstitial, native, and rewarded ad formats.
- Ads may be personalized based on advertising identifiers when you consent. If you decline tracking (iOS App Tracking Transparency) or opt out of ad personalization (Android), you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.
- The App also uses TikTok advertising event measurement to attribute installs and conversions from advertising campaigns.
- You can reset or limit your advertising identifier at any time: on iOS via Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking; on Android via Settings > Google > Ads.
- Purchasing a subscription or removing ads, where offered, disables advertising.
You can review Google's ad practices at Google Advertising.

Data Sharing
We share information only as follows:

- With advertising partners, limited to advertising identifiers and ad interaction data, subject to your consent;
- When required by law, court order, or a valid request from a public authority;

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The App does not host user profiles, user-generated public content, or messaging between users.
International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process and store data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, these transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect your information.
Data Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:
- Analytics and behavior data: typically up to 14 months, per provider defaults;
- Crash reports: typically up to 90 days;
- Purchase and subscription records: for as long as required by tax and accounting law;
- Preferences stored on your device: until you delete them or uninstall the App.
Account Deletion and Data Deletion
The App does not require a registered account. Where an anonymous identifier is created for your device, you can request its deletion along with all associated data.
- In-app: clearing app data or uninstalling the App removes locally stored preferences and terminates the anonymous identifier on your device.
- By request: email brunovercosa487@gmail.com with the subject "Data Deletion". We will confirm and complete deletion within 30 days.
- Deletion removes anonymous identifiers, stored preferences, and analytics data linked to your device. Purchase records that we are legally required to retain, and fully anonymized aggregate statistics, may be kept.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (including under Brazil's LGPD, the GDPR, and the CCPA), you may have the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your data and access it;
- Correct incomplete or inaccurate data;
- Request deletion or anonymization of your data;
- Withdraw consent at any time, including for location, notifications, and tracking;
- Request portability of your data;
- Object to certain processing;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, such as the ANPD in Brazil.
To exercise any of these rights, contact brunovercosa487@gmail.com.
Children's Privacy
The App is intended for a general adult audience interested in elections and civic information. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the applicable minimum age in your country, such as 13 under Brazil's LGPD rules for children).
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without verified parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us information should contact brunovercosa487@gmail.com.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission, restricted access to systems, and reliance on established providers such as Google Firebase for storage.
No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Political and Electoral Content
The App presents electoral information from official public sources for informational purposes. We do not collect, record, or infer your political opinions, party preference, or voting intention, and we do not associate any political data with you personally. Any simulation or preference feature is stored locally on your device and is never used for advertising targeting.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and, for significant changes, notify you in the App or by push notification. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
